God’s Prosperity Promise
In today’s episode, Ric is emphasizing that prosperity extends far beyond just finances to encompass all aspects of life. He clarifies that this message is not about transactional tithing or donations for personal gain, but rather about a holistic approach to life.
Ric explains that while difficulties are part of the faith journey, they ultimately lead to seasons of prosperity. He references 3 John 1:2, stating that prosperity is desired “in all things” as the soul prospers. This means prospering in business, ministry, leadership, parenting, employment, and finances.
The core of the message is “the path to prosperity,” which is outlined through King David’s final words to Solomon in 1 Kings.
The path involves:
- Being strong and proving oneself: This refers to being disciplined, committed, and walking with conviction, standing up for Christ, and being strong in the Lord.
- Keeping the charge of the Lord: This involves fulfilling one’s God-given mission and purpose.
- Walking in God’s ways: This means following God’s statutes, commandments, judgments, and testimonies rather than personal opinions or ideas.
Ric Bender highlights that following this path allows one to prosper in all that they do and wherever they turn, leading to a life that honors God and advances His kingdom. He warns against the “prosperity gospel” teaching that solely focuses on material gain, often ignoring true obedience to God’s word.
