It is rightly said, the nearer a saint comes to the perfect life in God the farther he feels from it.

You see there is great lesson as a person begins to climb up the foothills it is then and only then when you are facing the realty of just how lofty and magnificent the mountains really are. This is not to discourage us but to encourage us in our most necessary need. “Dependence Upon Our God.”

Brethren I do  not count myself to have apprehended but one thing I do, forgetting those things behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 3:13,14

All believers in Jesus Christ need to realize we are not all that we should be or all that we will be as God continues to work in our lives. The reality is when looking at the theological truth, we are perfect positionally in Christ Jesus, this is what the Bible addresses in Hebrews 10:14 but sinless perfection at this point in our lives is not the case. This is what the apostle is talking about when he says he has “not apprehended” and seeks to move forward in what God does desire for him.

I believe knowing this truth is very important because our attitude and our understanding, about our real condition is very important leading us to know our great need for our dependence upon God
